Visited Site - not sure if I should laugh or cry

22 April 2017 - Well after 9 weeks since the excavation was done in error, Valeco finally came to fill and compact the area. I am speechless, because it's starting to feel like a comedy of errors. If this is the finished product then we are still left with a 1.5 metre drop in the smack in the middle of our driveway - great for dirt bikes for a car impossible. Maybe there is more work to be done but since we have received no communication from the site supervisor who knows? Well back on to the office, hopefully the problem will not take 4 weeks to acknowledge this time.

24 April 2017 - get a call from the site supervisor. He makes it pretty clear that's all we were going to get, but he may do something in the future maybe - so reassuring! His back to 'natural level' is not what was agreed and it is not the level that was there before he dug 'his hole'. Hopefully the owners who are aware of our situation will take care of it who knows? I am waiting with bated breath to see what happens next.
But the site supervisor was all happy with himself. He had guys on site that day and it was full steam ahead for the slab being poured on Wednesday (dependant on weather) with the frame being delivered on Friday. Movement at last, 14 weeks after work began we will finally get a slab.

25 April 2017 - Public holiday, so visited the site. Piering dug, waffles down but even to my untrained eye there was a huge amount of steel missing and there was none there on site.

26 April 2017 - The Day of the Slab. Well it is obviously not meant to be. Guys we're working all day but there was no slab. Pierings were filled with concrete though.

28 April 2017 -  Called the site supervisor as it got the better of me. It seems that the engineer had them more steel in, wow did not see that one coming. The only reassuring thing here was at least this stage is checked and certified what will happen in future stages? I dread to think of what could have happened.
Bottom line is, the slab may go ahead next Wednesday dependant on weather. Oh and all the public holidays are putting back the build, absolutely no irony there, this is a couple of days we are talking about and 14 weeks have already been wasted with his error. The site supervisor did say he was surprised how big the slab actually was. Suggested he may want to look at the plans!
So what else can go wrong - opps probably should not have said that out loud.
